[Note 07-12-26″ Well, we all make mistakes. No excuses we did in jumping on the Platner bandwagon about a month ago. But, this doesn’t change one bit what the overall objective of what we, and everyone, should be trying to achieve in November, 2026: And that is to preserve democracy and rid ourselves of wannabe dictators who now have fired all the Democrats on the federal Election Assistance Commission. Talk about rigging the system ! These are extremely scary times folks. With this President, and a Supreme Court and GOP that continues to enable him, our precious democracy hangs by a thread. The November 2026 election is shaping up to be our nation’s most important ever. We are not exaggerating. We would even say the November election is more important than the election of 1860 right before the Civil War. Why? Setting aside for a moment the absolute catastrophic horror of the 2024 election, it’s because the existence of democracy affects everyone’s personal liberties and their control over their government. And that’s exactly what’s at stake in November of 2026. Allowing this administration more time to further entrench Trump’s power is totally unthinkable. In short, we are losing our chance ot ever get rid of him, and the incompetent quasi fascist corrupt fools who make up his government. We cannot trust ANY Republican to protect our democracy. Even if they are fair, reasonable and honorable, if the GOP controls Congress, things are just going to remain as dysfunctional and corrupt as ever because the Republicans will set the agenda, make all the committee assignments, consider what bills get brought to a vote–in short, electing any member of the GOP just helps to keep Congress under Trump’s control. That situtation (which is also our present one) must be avoided at all costs.
By the way. Has everyone noticed that Fox News and right wing media can’t stop talking about Platner? Anything to keep negative information about Democrats in the news. Hey Fox. Platner’s no longer a candidate. He’s now irrelevant. You’re only purpose, Fox, is to divert attention from the most corrupt, incompetent, pro-fascist and autocratic administration in the history of our nation. In short,Platner’s no longer relevent. He’s no longer news. Stop reporting on him. At least Democrats get rid of their bad apples, the GOP sticks with a guy who was convicted of 34 felony counts by one jury and by another he was held liable for almost $6 million dollars in personal injury damages for what amounts to sexual assault. Then he causes the extreme insurrectionist violence that was the January 6th Capitol riot. And this doesn’t even include the Epstein cover up and the Iran fiasco. If the GOP was as picky in who carries their banner as the Democrats are this nation wouldn’t be the dire strait that it’s been in ever since our President came on the political scene.]

The crucial U.S. Senate race in Maine. Platner versus Collins.
Control of the the U.S. Senate and ultimately Congress is at stake. Freedom loving Americans simply cannot allow Fox News and the right wing media distract their attention from the primary and urgent need to ultimately impeach and remove Trump from office if we want to save our democracy. Republicans have repeatedly shown that they will not stand up to Trump and will give him what amounts to dictatorial powers. We must put an end to Trump/GOP’s perversion of our cherished democracy right now. If our democracy is destroyed, given the immense powers of billionaires (now trillionaires) with robot armies and the government’s ever increasing ability to snoop on us, we will NEVER get our democracy back. While many may argue that Senator Collins is more of a centrist and is more likely to “buck” Trump than most Republicans, nevertheless, Maine voters can no longer afford to vote for any Republican (no matter how reasonable and rational they are) because it makes Republican control of the Senate (in this case) and/or the House (in other races) more likely. If the GOP continues to control either or both chambers of Congress, Trump will not be stopped and he will undoubtedly operate on the fringes of the law and the Constitution will seize and/or grab more and more power.
