OPINION and ANALYSIS:
Several Trump advisors are telling him to declare martial law and take control of the voting process during the upcoming 2026 election. This is scary stuff. We are in a fight for democracy. There can no longer be any doubt about that. If you don’t believe that, you should read/watch the blog posts and videos mentioned in our video below. Maintenance of Democracy should be everyone’s highest priority. Without it we have no say in government and no rights and we would be enslaved and subject to the whims and will of a few. There would be no rule of law. Everything our forefathers fought and died for would have all been in vain.
When our soldiers, sailors, Marines and airmen fought and died in World War II, they were essentially fighting right wing, fascist dictatorships. Make no mistake. Right wing extremism is alive and well in the U.S. And one particular political party has gotten more than a little cozy with it. This particular party has, with the assistance of super-rich and deceitful campaigning and propaganda, including major right wing news media, shanghaied the vote of far too many working and disadvantaged Americans. This must stop and stop now.
If one thinks about it, democracy is about giving the common man a genuine voice in government. This is not only essential to a fufilling life, it’s essential to survival. If one looks at history, there is absolutely no question which party has consistently stood up for the rights of the common man. Thank goodness, the party that gave us Social Security, the first Food Stamps, union rights under the National Labor Relations Act (Franklin D. Roosevelt); Medicare/Medicaid, the Voting Rights Act, the Civil Rights Act (Lyndon Johnson) and Obamacare (Barrack Obama) has candidates on the ballot in November 2026–all when the very survival of democracy is on the line.
