OPINION AND ANALYSIS
Todd Blanche, the number 2 at Bondi’s Department of Justice, issued a statement critical of what he terms activist judges, and parts of his statements, though alarming, may not have been improper. Nevertheless, there is significant basis to believe that the Trump administration wants to play hardball with the judiciary and depending on how they do so, could, indeed, be extremely problematic because, it could ultimately destroy the judiciary, the rule of law and our democracy. This is an incredibly important issue and a red line has to be drawn.
