OPINION and ANALYSIS:
Nothing will happen to stop the destruction of our democracy unless we put pressure on the Republicans. This is because the Republicans control both houses of Congress and have allowed Trump to run amuck and trample on the Constitution for a year, all after ignoring the events of January 6, 2021 and failing to take into account Trump’s previous misdeeds. It is especially important to express ones desire to impeach/remove Trump from office if your Congressman and/or Senators are Republicans. Doing nothing or thinking that it’s a waste of time only gives Trump more time to destroy our democracy and our country.
Below is the draft letter we originally published in September of 2025. Anyone can use it.

Dear Senator/Congressman
I am a firm believer in democracy and our Constitution with three separate but equal branches. For this reason I am extremely upset and alarmed. President Trump’s actions clearly indicate that he wants to turn this country into some kind of dictatorship. I want a President who plays fair, abides by the rule of law and the Constitution. I want a President who will unite this county, not divide us as Trump is doing.
President Trump appears to be acting quickly to illegally consolidate and increase his power. It is extremely dangerous to allow him time to gain more power. There is no time to lose. He must be impeached and removed from office immediately for any number of impeachable offenses. He is a felon, an insurrectionist and regularly exceeds his authority. Any Congressional representative who fails to act to impeach/remove President Trump bears full responsibility for enabling all wrongs that Trump commits in the future. Thank you.
