The 2025 election results are in and Democrats resoundingly won elections around the country. Clearly the general feeling is that Trump’s policies are not working. What now? There’s such a mess. The fear here is that the mess is so big that fixing everything may take decades if not longer, We have some reservations about the feasibility of some of the things Mr. Mamdani promised in New York City but now big promises aren’t going to be enough, he has a lot of work to do because New Yorkers are clearly struggling or they would not have elected him. Elsewhere Democrats must aggressively instill more rational debate and more rational government everywhere. It would be extremely helpful if both parties were more willing to compromise.
