The feel good sneaky ways we give up our liberties. In yet another example of how the desires for safety and for cheap and quick solutions will give any dictator and oppressive government yet another way to control and watch us we have the example of the now ubiquitous traffic camera. What’s worse, local governments will come to depend on the quick revenues these invidious devices will generate. You can’t make life perfectly safe for anyone, including children. Here’s a nasty little way for anyone to inadvertently run up huge bills–all without ever knowing it until a month or so later.
