… which is both interesting and a little unusual
Here are
The Roof Top Singers
singin Walk Right In
It’s hard to miss with our next group
They need no real introduction
Because they
reside in the penthouse of all-time great
Motown groups.
But here’s one of their tunes that
Ya don’t hear very often
Here are…
The Temptations
With …Runnaway Child Running Wild
For all yinz youngsters out there
The Temptations was but one of many
Simply outstanding musical groups
That released a lot of great great
Motown and soul recordings back in
The 60s and 70s
It was called Motown because the
Company was located in
A little house in Detroit
Michigan
…which…once upon a time
Made virtually all of the cars
In this country.
Detroit that is,
Not the little house
I know that’s hard to believe
But it’s true.
But in any event
And moving on.
here’s a very unique
And entertaining interpretation of
A grammy award winning tune
Featured in a very famous X-rated movie
Midnight Cowboy.
The band is fronted by a husband and wife team
From Jacksonville FLA
She’s the singin’ guitar playin’ lead vocalist
She’s playin’ a Telecaster (obviously she has great taste)
and
. He’s playin’ a Gibson SG.
But let’s stop talkin’
And start listenin’
Here’s the
Tedeschi Trucks Band –
With Everybody’s Talkin’
Incidentally
The Tedeschi Trucks version of that tune
Sounds nothing like the Grammy winning version
Sung by Harry Nillson in 1970
Which I highly recommend
But I liked the Tedeschi version too.
When I ran across this next tune
I just started laughing
Because it might definitely reflect
The thinkin of many of our more
…ahem…shall we say
Experienced listeners
….maybe it will strike a chord with y’all too..

Guru’s a little tuckered

Who inspired so many youngsters
Back in the 60s
To pick up the guitar
Interestingly they were probably just
As well known in Japan
As they were here in the States
They were clearly a big influence on surf guitar playing
And are famous for a variety of instrumental tunes
Including the original theme tune
For the original Hawaii Five O TV show
